Water carries with it all it goes through. Watercolor is a medium with which to explore these textures and the role that water plays in our lives. Mineral-based water color and charcoal combine in this piece in variations on red as a caution about what ends up in our water.

We often portray and learn about democracy as set in stone, clear, and easy. In reality, democracy can be very messy, long-term work. Really messy, and not easy. But incredibly valuable. How do we acknowledge the messy and salvage it?
